Over the years, C-Spot Reviews has gone from being a single-reviewer site (just me and on Blogger) to having multiple reviewers, some I knew well, some I didn’t, to a review site with me and a few friends posting about books and online fiction that we really liked. And in a few instances, ones we really hated and wanted to specifically warn readers against.
After writing formal(ish) reviews for a long time, it’s easy to get burned out. That’s what’s happened to me – and several other folks who used to review here. It’s quick and easy to throw up a review in a few words over on Goodreads or LibraryThing or any of the other tracking and cataloging sites but it can be a daunting task to try to come up with something longer or witty or intelligent on a personal site. So that’s what I’ve been doing.
I’ve always tried to stay away from cross-posting reviews here and on Goodreads but I’m over that now. Either C-Spot Reviews is going to have to adapt to me having less time and more hobbies or it’ll have to go away. I don’t want it to go away. Not at this point, anyway.
With that in mind, I plan to post something here about everything I read in 2019. That will include novels, non-fiction, comics and graphic novels, online and fan fiction, self-help, whatever. Some of the reviews, maybe even most, will be cross-posted from Goodreads. No matter where I post a review, it’ll also be here. A one-stop shop!
I wish you a year of nothing but great books and happy reading!
